More about our team members:

William Goldenheim, Founder

William founded The North Shore Maritime Center as a not-for-profit organization in late 2020. He is a passionate science teacher, coach, and athlete (or perhaps rapidly becoming a former athlete). He began rowing in Norwalk, CT when he was 12 years old. In 2003 he won a silver medal at the World Junior Rowing Championships in Schinias, Greece. He then went on to row at Brown University in Providence, RI until an injury forced a course change. In 2014 he competed at Henley Royal Regatta in Henley-on-Thames, England as a member of Union Boat Club.

William’s coaching career began in 2010, working for Greater Lawrence Rowing and the Buckingham, Browne & Nichols School. After a stint in the corporate world, he switched hats and ran the Middle School Indoor Rowing Program at Community Rowing, Inc. (CRI). He taught high school science and coached rowing and cross country at Dexter Southfield for five years. In 2019, he began teaching at St. Mary’s High School in Lynn, where he has successfully launched the first school rowing team in Lynn’s history.

From William: “What an honor to be starting two rowing programs in the Lynn area. The cities and towns on the North Shore are incredible and have such rich histories, especially being right on the coast. I am so excited to bring our community members on the water and to provide access to these opportunities that are so deserved.”

Gabby Ferullo, Program Manager Intern

Gabby is the first-ever Program Manager Intern for NSMC! She started rowing as a sophomore at St. Mary’s High School and fell in love with the sport, progressing to the University of New Hampshire after graduation. At UNH, Gabby continued to develop as a coxswain and a leader. At the end of her freshman year, she ran for Travel Logistics Coordinator, a position on the Executive Board, and held that role during her sophomore year.

During her sophomore year at UNH, Gabby began exploring opportunities to row at the varsity level. After entering the NCAA transfer portal, she was invited to join the Syracuse Women’s Rowing team and will begin her academic and athletic career at Syracuse in the fall of 2026.

After her freshman year at UNH, she cut her teeth coaching in our summer programs. Her passion for the sport only grew after taking on the new role, and she now loves mentoring athletes on their journeys in the rowing world. While coaching will continue to be a major part of her role, Gabby will also help lead the charge with marketing, social media, event planning, and much, much more!

Anna LoGiudice, Coach

Anna began rowing later than some athletes, first walking onto the Connecticut College Women’s Rowing Team as a freshman after playing a variety of sports throughout high school. Now entering her senior year, Anna has developed both a strong competitive background and a passion for helping new rowers grow in the sport.

Because she began rowing later, she still remembers what it was like to learn the fundamentals and enjoys helping beginners build confidence on the water. During the summers, Anna continues gaining experience rowing in singles while also spending time in doubles with her coworker, Gabby. She loves being out on the water and will often jump into a quad with the youth learn-to-row athletes or join them for workouts.

This is Anna’s second year coaching the rowing program at North Shore Maritime Center, and she has also helped coach and row with the St. Mary’s winter rowing program. She is excited to continue sharing her experience and enthusiasm for rowing with young athletes this summer.

Donna Weiner, Coach and Yoga Instructor

Donna got her start with rowing as a walk-on athlete at the Division I program at Kansas State University (under the tutelage of our own founding board member, Ellen Minzner!). She spent many years as an industrial engineer across many industries and picked up rowing again after moving to the north shore. Donna has joined NSMC in multiple capacities, including coaching our indoor program with Lynn Tech, coaching with the St. Mary’s Crew Team, and bringing her 200-hour yoga instructor certification to benefit the minds and bodies of our athletes.

Paul Gouthro, Coach

Paul first got his start in rowing as a volunteer at the Head of the Charles Regatta. He then became a jack-of-all-trades volunteer with NSMC, coaching, building, fixing, trailer driving and much more. He has also joined the St. Mary’s Crew Team as an assistant coach and leads the strength and conditioning programming for the team. Having earned his USRowing Level 1 and nearing completion of the Level 2 Coaching Certificates, Paul is bringing that passion and newfound skill to the pond.

Jeremiah McCarthy, Sailing Coach

Jeremiah McCarthy has over a decade of sailing and racing experience. He began learning to sail on the Mystic Lake in Winchester MA before joining the Pleon Yacht Club race team in Marblehead MA. At St. John’s Prep, Jeremiah has been a varsity starter on the sailing team for 4 years and a captain for 2 helping to lead the team to some of its best seasons on record. Jeremiah has obtained his US Sailing Level 1 instructor certification and taught at the Winchester Boat Club. He continues to actively race C420 and Laser classes and small keelboats and is excited to bring his knowledge and experience to North Shore Maritime Center.
