He is a passionate science teacher, coach, and athlete (or perhaps rapidly becoming a former athlete). He began rowing in Norwalk, CT when he was 12 years old. In 2003 he won a silver medal at the World Junior Rowing Championships in Schinias, Greece. He then went on to row at Brown University in Providence, RI until an injury forced a course change. In 2014 he competed at Henley Royal Regatta in Henley-on-Thames, England as a member of Union Boat Club. William’s coaching career began in 2010, working for Greater Lawrence Rowing and the Buckingham, Browne & Nichols School. After a stint in the corporate world, he switched hats and ran the Middle School Indoor Rowing Program at Community Rowing, Inc. (CRI). He taught high school science and coached rowing and cross country at Dexter Southfield for five years. In 2019, he began teaching at St. Mary’s High School in Lynn, where he has successfully launched the first school rowing team in Lynn’s history.
